1100 engines piston rings have given up on me again. 1st time it happened 2 days after i put it on the road when i was 17 and had to have it rebuilt and now after its 2nd body restoration its happened again. got me and dad up to castle coombe and back but clearly wasnt happy and i wasnt to happy with it using 4 litres of that there millers oil.
Have bought a 1275 MG Metro engine complete off of mark believed to be in good condition, have cleaned it up and changed bits and bobs over, it is now in the car awaitng a new exhaust link pipe with an extra silencer (i must be getting old and civilized) and a new ultimate engine steady. then fingers crossed it'l fire up and bring me more luck than the 1100 did. Thanks to Alan and Mark for supplying the engine with club discount. pictures may follow if i can find my camera. |
