Gavie, myself & our mate Jumbo recently put a union jack decal on gavie's mini.
It's worth shopping around for these as minisport now want £65 for their kit.
Gavie got this one off ebay for £35, and it's great quality, the company is called Graphic Wizard. It's worth doing this job inside so that you don't get dirt under the decal or worst case the wind takes it out of your hands.

Pictured below is the kit you will need for the job.
A squirty bottle full of soapy water, a pair of scissors, tape measure, plastic filler spreader and masking tape.

After we cleaned the roof we applied the first part of the main cross ( it comes in three pieces).
to do this we soaked both the roof and the sticky side of the decal with soapy water, we then laid the decal roughly centre and then measured from each side of it to the roof gutters to get dead centre.
The next step is to squeegie the water out from between the decal and the roof, we used plastic filler spreaders for this with masking tape on the edges so as not to scratch the decal ( you can get rubber sqeegies but they are not as effective as a good old filler spreader).

The next step was to fit the four corners, these all butt up to the main cross and are marked front, back, left & right, so you can't really put them in the wrong place.
Again we soaked it all up and it was the same procedure as before.

After all four corners were on it was just the two short sides of the cross to put on (all the same as above).

Once finished it was left inside overnight to properly dry out and that was that, JOB DONE.

when we did Sarah's chequered roof we found a hot air gun useful as well to soften the vinyl and help drive the water our from under the decal

Hot air guns can be really useful for some stubborn decals, but you can easily damage and/or ruin vinyl with just a bit too much heat.
As i said you can't beat a good old filler spreader and a bit of patience Very Happy
